Now to Ashes (playwright)

Renae, in collaboration with Sarah Pultz, wrote a new play based on the lives of Sarah and Angelina Grimke, Sarah Mapps Douglass, and Angelina Weld Grimke. Now to Ashes premiered as a staged reading at the 2025 District Fringe Festival, with plans for a full production in 2026-2027 by Christopher Newport University and Hampton University. Renae was commissioned to collaborate on the dramatization of The Revolutionary War Lives and Letters of Henry and Lucy Knox by Dr. Phillip Hamilton, in collaboration with Denise Gillman, Sarah Pultz, and Christopher Newport University. The play will premiere April to October 2026 at the Torggler Fine Arts Center. ​​
